Padukone is a native of Mangalorean roots and is fluent in Konkani as her mother tongue. Her family ancestors are from the village Padukone in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state of India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international badminton player who retiring. Her mother is a travel agent.
